SUMMARY:Addison Road Urban Forests Conference
DESCRIPTION:\n \nRethinking the Urban Forest will showcase the importance of rebuilding urban forests in our cities\, and the risks to Australia’s urban forests and biodiversity from climate change\, with particular emphasis on Marrickville\, the Inner West\, and Sydney more generally. \nThe conference will focus on topics such as: climate change\, the context and politics of urban greening\, risks to and coverage of the urban tree canopy\, trees and other green infrastructure and green assets\, trees as hollows and homes for habitat\, the built environment and hot spot cities\, how to create an urban forest & urban tree selection\, Aboriginal land use practices\, the war on trees\, land clearing laws\, heat effects\, community health\, livability and wellbeing\, planning\, policies and implementation.  \nPractical workshops will include: making hollows as homes\, a tour of our habitat tree and monitoring our bat colony\, a ‘How to take action’ workshop\, and plant identification and placement. \nTrade and industry specialists will be encouraged to sponsor and exhibit.  \nFor more details contact: conference@arcco.org.au \n
